The Journey Through the Years:

  • 1960: Keeping chickens in the original farm buildings in Obernhain.
  • 1965: Relocation of the farm; 3,000 laying hens with direct egg sales, 100 fattening pigs, and 15 hectares of land.
  • 1976: Construction of a new pigsty; start of piglet production with 100 breeding sows and 30 hectares of land.
  • 1980: 120 breeding sows, 1,000 fattening pigs, and 7,000 laying hens across 40 hectares.
  • 1986: Discontinuation of laying hens and pig fattening; focus on 140 breeding sows and 70 hectares.
  • 1990: 140 breeding sows, 90 hectares; start of medicinal plant cultivation and export of flowers to the Netherlands; edible oil press.
  • 1993: Discontinuation of sow keeping; focus on flower cultivation and 80 hectares of land.
  • 1999: Creation of the first Jerusalem Artichoke Labyrinth; 70 hectares, flower cultivation.
  • 2000: Expansion of the labyrinth and play areas; 15 hectares.
  • 2004: Construction of the event hall and climbing facilities; pumpkin and flower cultivation.
  • 2009: 10th anniversary of the labyrinth; focus on alternative agriculture.
  • 2011: Planting of the orchard.
  • 2012: Construction of new enclosures for donkeys and small animals; creation of the rose garden.
  • 2018: The small animal enclosure becomes home to rabbits, quails, guinea fowl, ducks, chickens, two mini-pigs, our pony "Pfehlix," and the three donkeys Anton, Gabi, and Fridolin.
  • 2019: 20th anniversary of the labyrinth.
  • 2020: In late April, our little donkey Max and the baby goat Linus are born.
  • 2021: Arrival of new baby goats, "Stracciatella" and "Marshmellow." Addition of outdoor seating areas covered by parachutes.
  • 2022: Construction of a new chicken coop. Our lamb "Gänseblümchen" (Daisy) is born. We begin opening for small groups during the off-season.
  • 2023: Our goat Maria gives birth to a little buck in March!
  • 2024: We begin serving regional ice cream from "Eisheiligen." The farm is passed into the grateful hands of the younger generation, bringing fresh ideas to the business.
  • 2025: Addition of a new "Bauwagen" (traditional shepherd's wagon). Silkie chickens move in, followed by fluffy chicks 8 weeks later!
  • 2026: Two young female pygmy pigs, Trudi and Peppa, join us here on the farm.
